I'm a busy mom of 2 who has always loved art. Hot Glass Art sort of fell into my lap. I'd met a woman - now a good friend - at a tag sale and she had some beads for sale. I thought they were gorgeous and she told me that she'd made them. She invited me in to see her studio and that was that! I had to give it a whirl.
It's not a cheap hobby, so I started by getting some books, which I read over and over again. Saved up some money and bought my first very simple torch - a hot head. After a short time I knew this was something I needed to continue with. So I saved some more and bought a Nortel Minor Burner torch. To operate it however I also needed an oxygen concentrator and a variety of other tools.
So here I am roughly 5 years later, still loving to torch and buidling a new studio in my home!
